Sediment particle filter

The first stage is the fine sediment partcile filter, which is a high efficiency particulate ultra fine filter. They’re widely used in medical applications where high quality clean water is critical. It effectively removes tiny particles like sediment, silt, algae, micro plastics and also the turbidity from the water.

Micron activated carbon

Alkalined’s second stage filter is a large high quality commercial grade activated carbon filter, similarly used by leading water companies like Fiji water and Evian. This high quality activated carbon is quite remarkable in terms of its ability to remove contaminates. 

Sub-micron carbon

The third filter effectively removes herbicides, pesticides organic and inorganic contaminates, chlorine, THM’s, microbial crysts, taste, odour and many other chemicals that effect the aesthetic quality of the water.

Reverse osmosis ultra-purification

Our reverse osmosis stage removes all contaminants from the water. Water flows from the more concentrated side (more contaminants) of the reverse osmosis membrane to the less concentrated side (fewer contaminants) to provide the clean, purified water. 

Alkaline mineral enhancement

The fifth stage is the process of mineralisation and is the key to healthy and tasty Alkaline water. This process adds several key minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and many others that are essential for good health. 

Antioxidant enhancement

Quickly following the alkaline mineral enhancement process, we move into the antioxidant enhancement stage, where key antioxidants are filtered back into the water. Antioxidants are compounds produced in your body and found in foods. They help defend cells from damage caused by potentially harmful molecules known as free radicals. 

Ultraviolet bacteria protection

The ultraviolet water purification in this stage is the most effective method available for eliminating harmful microorganisms like E.Coli, Giadia and all other types of bacteria and viruses. This UV light system destroys microorganisms safely and naturally without adding any chemicals or changing the water in any way. Its just a powerful light similar to the suns ultraviolet rays.

Acidic vs Alkaline

Acidic vs alkalined food and drinks

The “alkaline or acid” in water refers to its pH level. The pH level is a number that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is on a scale of 0 to 14. The middle of the scale is 7, which is neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. So something like carbonated cola is very acidic at about 3-4pH, fresh vegetable juice would be alkaline at about 8 pH and tap water is generally neutral at about 7pH. Most vegetables are alkaline while meats, dairy, breads and processed foods are acidic.

Acid/alkaline balance in our body is measured by the food and drink we consume by their pH level. The pH scale measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is. It ranges from 0 to 14 with 7 being neutral. Less the 7 is acidic and more than 7 is alkaline. 

Ginger tea, celery and parsley are all highly alkaline forming while soft drinks, white flour and sausages are highly acidifying foods. All food and drink we ingest influences our bodies pH. In order to have optimum health, our bodies need to maintain a good level of alkalinity, typically about 7.4 pH. 

Unfortunately for most of us, our diet and busy lifestyle is acidic. An acid-forming diet, lifestyle coupled with stress can lead to a lack of energy, low immunity and just feeling a bit average.
